SudHeritage was born from the desire to enhance the culture of work in Calabria as an integral part of the regional identity and cultural heritage. The network unites business museums that tell stories of production, innovation and tradition, focusing on people, knowledge and territories.
The project objectives are multiple and integrated: revitalising the territory from a cultural perspective, stimulating a new economy linked to experiential tourism and promoting Calabria as an example of regeneration through enterprise, memory and the beauty of doing.
SudHeritage recognises in the culture of work a profound identity value for Calabria. The project was created to protect, narrate and make accessible the material and immaterial heritage linked to Calabrian know-how: a legacy that combines tradition, enterprise and innovation. The companies become places of living memory, capable of bearing witness to the dignity of work, productive creativity and the resilience of the territories.
La SouthHeritage network intends to contribute to a rewriting of the narrative of Calabria, highlighting its productive and dynamic face. Through the museums of enterprises operating in the key sectors of manufacturing and agribusiness, the project promotes a development model that starts from local roots to generate innovation, beauty and new perspectives.
Sudheritage proposes itself as an interlocutor with institutions and in synergy with associations to design and build targeted and structural actions along three lines: to strengthen existing corporate museums; to encourage the construction of new museums by companies that hold a significant cultural and historical heritage to be valorised; to build transversal actions for the promotion and dissemination of the network of corporate museums.
Objectives: recultural, economic and tourism launch
SudHeritage aims to activate a virtuous circle between culture, economy and tourism. By enhancing enterprises as cultural presidia and opening up production sites to public enjoyment, the network contributes to the relaunch of Calabria as an authentic and sustainable destination, capable of attracting visitors, generating employment and strengthening the link between community and territory.
