Rubbettino's publishing and typographic activity has been part of the millenary relationship between Calabria and paper for more than fifty years, and is told to visitors in the business museum PAPER.
A museum that is in many ways unusual, where the history of books, printing processes and typographic techniques, paper and the materials used to support typography, reconstructed along the exhibition route, merges with the activities of a workshop for creativity, design, innovation and experimentation, open to innovators in communication, design and digital craftsmanship.
From movable type to the bit then, with edutainment paths, exhibitions and spaces for conferences and seminars on the themes of visual culture and typography. An integral part of the museum experience is the contemporary art park that establishes a dialogue with the world of books and typography in a relationship of hybridisation of knowledge, thanks to the activities of artists from all over the world who, in creating the works that enrich the area, have wished to investigate the material link between the plant world and the world of publishing/typographic production, through the transformation of cellulose into paper as a key element of publishing and typography.
PAPER is thus a complex system in which history, nature, craftsmanship and the digital world stand in an unbroken relationship made up of knowledge, experience and visions of the future.
